Episode 'Glee' Season 2, Episode 20 - 'Prom Queen' Recap
May 11, 2011 @ 5:09 am PST    Glee     Andy Neuenschwander
Prom night is coming up, and I just have one question: why are the only people up for Prom King and Queen from the glee club? Anyway, Mercedes wants a date but nobody has asked her, so Rachel has a plan: pay Sam to take the both of them. Okay, so she doesn't really pay him, but they do have a "prom budget." I can't decide if the whole thing is really cute or just plain weird.

There was never much of a doubt (although there was a little bit) about this happening: Fox has chosen to renew "House," "Family Guy," and "The Cleveland Show" for another season! "Family Guy" will be returning for its 10th season in the fall, joined by "The Cleveland Show," going into its 4th season. Man, "The Cleveland Show" has been on TV for four seasons? It seems like only yesterday I was sitting in front of my TV saying "they're really making a spinoff? That won't last.

There's no doubt that "Jersey Shore" is already a cultural phenomenon. The show is entering its fourth season, paying its stars six figures, and it has spawned a UK spinoff in addition to three future US spinoffs. But University of Chicago student David Showalter thinks there's more to the "Shore" than just a bunch of fist-pumping, fights, and Thursday night guilty-pleasure viewing.

The Drop-Out Kid: Alec Baldwin Leaves 'Rock of Ages'
May 10, 2011 @ 2:13 pm PST    Rock of Ages, Men in Black III, 30 Rock     Andy Neuenschwander
He's done it again! Just a couple of months ago, Alec Baldwin announced that he had dropped out of the troubled "Men in Black III." Now, THR is reporting that Baldwin has dropped out of "Rock of Ages" as well. This move is a bit more surprising from Baldwin, as "Rock of Ages" is turning out to be a very highly anticipated movie. The flick is an adaptation of the jukebox musical, which features a collection of classic rock songs from the 1980's.

Will Stephen Colbert have to change his last name to "Col-bunny"? If Ed Asner and the Defenders of Wildlife have their way, it could happen. Colbert, they say, has been attacking bears for too long. "It's sad but true," they write in an email to potential members of the movement, "TV comedian Stephen Colbert has become a bear bully! And bears are reeling from his onslaught." With National Bear Week approaching, the Defenders of Wildlife are bringing attention to the animal's habitat loss, poaching, and Colbert's attacks during his popular show "The Colbert Report."

Ready for 'Dinosaurs Versus Aliens'?
May 10, 2011 @ 2:01 pm PST    Men in Black III, Men in Black     Scott Nye
Oh yes, you read that right. First we went through a massive cycle of alien invasion films. Then the aliens invaded and we stuck them in segregated neighborhoods. Soon the aliens will fight cowboys. Not one to be outdone, Grant Morrison now wants the aliens to fight...dinosaurs.

May 10, 2011 @ 10:15 am PST    The Office, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Chelsea Lately     Elizabeth Sexton
The aroma of love and the stench of hamburger grease was in the air when Will Ferrell and buddy John C. Reilly locked lips for a moment on the kiss cam during a Laker?s game last week. "Half the crowd erupted in joy and the other half vomited," Ferrell told Chelsea Handler of the moment. The key ingredient for the making the crowd feel squirmy was in the beef, he said.

May 10, 2011 @ 9:04 am PST    Gossip Girl     Allie Basilica
I just can't imagine my world without "Gossip Girl" in it, and for the next 7 days I won't have to. Tonight's episode was the epitome of predictable, but I love being right, so everyone wins. During the first five minutes of "Shattered Bass" we find out that Nate is going to crash with Raina to get away from Chuck, Dan invites Charlie to the Constance fundraiser and Blair is still having dreams, or nightmares, about her love triangle.
