GK Films has just hired Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, who wrote "Iron Man" and also win the award for Most Oddly-Named Writing Duo, to pen the script for the new "Tomb Raider" movie. Those who saw "Iron Man" will know why this is such good news: the team put together an impressive script for the first film, featuring snappy dialogue, a simple yet involving story, strong characters, and a fascinating origin.

It was made famous when a young Macaulay Culkin defended it from Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, and now the house from "Home Alone" is up for sale. As a child of the late 80's and early 90's, the excitement over the prospect of living in that house makes me want to rob a bank so that I could buy it. Really, it's enough to make you want to run around the house screaming with your hands on your face.

It's official, the new judge for "The X Factor" is Cheryl What's-Her-Face. We kid. Fox announced today that Cheryl Cole, the British songstress and judge from the UK version of "The X Factor" will officially be judging the new U.S.- based show alongside Simon Cowell and uber-producer L.A. Reid. Cole got her start on reality TV as part of the girl group Girls Aloud, which competed on the British show "Pop Stars: The Rivals," and has gone on to produce two #1 albums on the UK charts: "Three Words" and "Messy Little Raindrops."

Blake Shelton learned this the hard way last night, when the country star and coach on "The Voice" tweeted the following: "Re-writing my fav Shania Twain song.. Any man that tries Touching my behind He's gonna be a beaten, bleedin', heaving kind of guy."

It's the year of the 1970's remakes apparently, as there is not only a "Wonder Woman" pilot in the works, but ABC also has an updated version of "Charlie's Angels" looking to be picked up. Seriously, did these network executives just find the room with all the 1970's shows in it? Is that what's going on here?

In a recent episode of Glenn Beck's Fox News show, he tore into "Glee" and the band My Chemical Romance, calling the series "a horror show" and using a MCR song as an example of how "our whole culture ... is set up for you and the values you grew up on to lose." Of course there were a few minor problems. As the band's lead singer Gerard Way mentioned on his blog recently, Beck got both the band's name and the lyrics wrong.

It was like a scene from a movie when Pittsburgh Steelers superstar and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Hines Ward was removed from a vehicle at gunpoint last night. LAPD were following the Honda Civic that Ward was a passenger in around 2 a.m. this morning. After a check of the license plate showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen, officers pulled the driver over.
