Don't Eat the Hoff: David Hasselhoff Joins 'Piranha 3DD'
May 11, 2011 @ 11:38 pm PST    Piranha 3DD, Entourage, Conan, Celebrity Apprentice , Piranha 3D     Andy Neuenschwander
Don't hassle the Hoff, and don't eat him, either! "Baywatch" and "Knight Rider" star is the latest to join the cast of the upcoming "Piranha 3DD," the titillatingly-titled sequel to the recent "Piranha 3D." The Weinstein Company announced the casting today, but The Hoff's specific role in the film is unclear as of yet. Oh, please tell me he'll be playing a lifeguard.

'SNL' Member Bill Hader Joins 'Men in Black III' as...Andy Warhol?
May 11, 2011 @ 11:36 pm PST    Men in Black III, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad, Adventureland     Andy Neuenschwander
Time travel in movies is a tough plot element to pull off, especially after "Back to the Future" did it so damn well. But one of the perks of dealing with the logistical issues of time travel in your script is the fun character cameos (Bill and Ted, anyone?). "Men in Black III" seems fully aware of that fact, as news broke today that "Saturday Night Live" cast member Bill Hader would be playing a certain pop culture icon in the upcoming sequel.

Costs Might Jeopardize Ambitious New Stephen King Project 'The Dark Tower' with Javier Bardem
May 11, 2011 @ 2:07 pm PST    The Dark Tower, Lost     Sean Comer
It seems that things all along "The Dark Tower" have headed south almost as quickly as they recently picked up steam. Yidio.com recently reported that "No Country For Old Men" Oscar-winner Javier Bardem had signed on to lead the cast of three feature films and a two-season companion TV series bringing to life Stephen King's epic "The Dark Tower" saga. The saga's first part had been tentatively slated for a 2013 release. That may not be as outstanding an omen as first believed.

If you didn't learn your lesson the first four times around, Warner Bros. is bringing "Final Destination 5" to the big screen this summer. A new teaser trailer just hit the web and it proves, once again, that you can't cheat death. The clip is intense and gives viewers an early taste of how gruesome the summer flick will be. The storyline focuses on a group of people who survive a suspension bridge collapse.

Aha! Bristol Palin Admits to Plastic Surgery, Calls it 'Corrective'
May 11, 2011 @ 10:13 am PST    Dancing with the Stars     Andy Neuenschwander
Just yesterday we learned that Bristol Palin would be starring in a new reality show with fellow "Dancing With the Stars" alum Kyle Massey. Granted, she is doing charity work on the show, but the fact that Palin's two-year-old son will be living in a home with three 20-year-olds seems like a poor choice. There had been speculation about Palin's appearance, as she showed up for a Candie's event sporting a much thinner, more angular jaw.

'Dexter,' Meet Mos Def
May 11, 2011 @ 10:09 am PST    Dexter, House, Yo Gabba Gabba, Be Kind Rewind, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Six Feet Under     Richard Sharp
Just a few days after after we learned Colin Hanks would be coming on board for the sixth season of "Dexter" comes news that multi-talented hip-hop MC and actor Mos Def will be coming on board as a bad guy as well. THR is reporting that Mos Def will play "a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion, yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence." Something tells me Dexter might have a great way to deal with that little problem.

Beware the #FOXapolipse: FOX Cancels 'Breaking In,' 'Lie To Me' and Three Others
May 11, 2011 @ 7:43 am PST    Breaking In, Lie To Me, The Chicago Code, Human Target, Traffic Light     Allie Basilica
Is the world coming to an end? Nope, it's just that time of year again, the time when actors, producers and TV crews across the country cringe and wait for the official word. To renew, or not to renew, that is the question. Yesterday FOX announced that the broadcasting company would cancel five current series. Which shows are getting the axe? Christian Slater's brand new series "Breaking In" will not see another season, nor will "Lie To Me," "Human Target," "The Chicago Code" and "Traffic Light."

50 Cent Retraces His Civil War Roots in VH1 Rock Doc 'The Origin of Me'
May 11, 2011 @ 5:35 am PST    Who Do You Think You Are?, VH1 Hip Hop Honors     Andy Neuenschwander
Vh1 aims to put NBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" to shame with their continuing series of Vh1 Rock Docs. How? By focusing on 50 Cent's ancestry, of course. "The Origin of Me" will debut on Vh1 on May 23rd and will follow the famous rapper as he uncovers his past. There's no time for the kind of fluff we see in some of these other celebrity genealogy docs: Fiddy, it turns out, has ancestors who were faced with the "Redshirts," the band that eventually led to the KKK.

Episode 'The Voice' Season 1, Episode 3 - 'The Battles, Part 1' Recap
May 11, 2011 @ 5:33 am PST    The Voice     Andy Neuenschwander
Adam Blackstone, Monica, Sia, and Reba McEntire are all here to help each coach mentor their singers through the battle round: Blackstone is paired with Adam, Monica is with Cee Lo, Sia is with Christina, and Reba is with Blake. I'm less concerned about which contestants are going home and more with if this show will still be interesting past the blind auditions. Taralyn and Frenchie are the first pair from Christina, and the two are assigned "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)."
