In the end, there was no way it could stay. Penn State officials announced early this morning that the statue honoring disgraced late head football coach Joe Paterno will be removed immediately. The monument is a casualty of the scandal trailing revelations that University officials actively shielded former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky from allegations of and investigation into the sexual abuse of minors by the coach through University resources.

It was a wave-making story from San Diego Comic-Con that Jessica Biel was in talks to join the cast of 2013's "X-Men" spin-off sequel "The Wolverine." As it turns out, the waves never found the shore: Deadline reports today that talks to bring the "Total Recall" beauty onto the project have fallen through.

Well, one never walks away from an ATM that's spitting out money. And apparently, 15 years on, "Men In Black" is still vomiting Benjamins. Therefore, there's predictably to be a fourth installment coming probably sooner rather than later. Also on the way from Columbia Pictures: a second "21 Jump Street" and a remake of Robin Williams' 1995 family fantasy-comedy "Jumanji."

Warner Bros. has found itself having to consider changing gears on an upcoming release, in light of Aurora, Colo.'s "The Dark Knight Rises" massacre. Executives will meet Monday to possibly discuss whether to push back the release of Sept. 7's "Gangster Squad," return it to the cutting room or do both.
