She hasn't even hit theaters in "Total Recall" yet, and already, buzz surrounds Jessica Biel's next big role. She's keeping pretty mum, but word surfaced Saturday that she's in talks to join 20th Century Fox's X-Men off-shoot "The Wolverine" opposite Hugh Jackman. Talk has Biel taking on a rare part for her body of work: a villainous turn.

Could you get excited for a triple-shot of "The Hobbit?" Director Peter Jackson announced at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con that he's lobbying for his two-movie epic Tolkien adaptation to be split into three. To do so, the director claimed, he would want to go forth and shoot new footage some time in 2013.

On the other hand, there's some tantalizing footage here - though not without a bait-and-switch possibility - suggesting that Emily Maynard may loathe the man who dumped her, but might've also followed in his footsteps.

"American Idol" higher-ups didn't even need to express interest first: Aretha Franklin wants one of the open judges' seats for next season. A self-professed fan, Franklin would be filling in likely for either the departing Jennifer Lopez or Steven Tyler. But will rumored budget cuts prove a hindrance?

"American Idol" isn't getting any cheaper to produce. Even with Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez departing, producers are still targeting huge-name stars for the upcoming twelfth season. At the same time, the show is rumored to be headed toward budget cuts, layoffs and reduced salaries to keep it afloat following last season's declines in ratings and ad revenue.
