It's not so much the positive "The Dark Knight Rises" reviews that are so telling. It's the same needling gripe present in the minority of negative ones: that Nolan's third and allegedly final Batman film is needlessly loaded down with socio-political themes.

The former business professor and author had suffered lingering effects following an April bicycling accident in his home state of Utah.
