"V" star Morena Baccarin probably barely stayed in the unemployment line long enough to get her place warm. The breakout alien of ABC's reboot of the 1983 alien-invasion miniseries of the same name has landed a role on Showtime's post-Iraq War drama "Homeland."

So it seems that after he finishes promoting his current underground sensation "Red State" and shooting the hockey movie "Hit Somebody" - which he claims will be his last big-screen directorial effort - Kevin Smith will start thinking a little smaller. Apparently Smith digs the "Pawn Stars" reality TV concept, but thinks it could speak better to his core crowd.

Director Todd Phillips said he always envisioned "The Hangover" as a trilogy, eh? Well when "The Hangover Part II" rages out of the gate to a record-setting, $205-million gross over a five-day opening weekend, who are Warner Bros. executives to argue? Word from The Wrap and BadassDigest is that Warner Bros. has already secured "The Hangover Part II" co-writer Craig Mazin to start writing a third script to round out the series starring the hard-partying "Wolfpack" of Justin Bartha, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder had a message of the utmost importance to the well-being of our country yesterday: "Do another season of 'The Wire.'" The Attorney General, along with some of the cast of the critically-acclaimed HBO series, spoke at the Justice Department and directly addressed the creators of "The Wire," Ed Burns and David Simon.

Rumors were swirling yesterday that Halle Berry could be making her return to TV in a hot new pilot. A sought-after spec script has reportedly been making the rounds at the pay cable networks (such as HBO and Showtime), and the "X-Men" star is being strongly considered for the lead. The script is currently titled "Higher Learning," and while details of the story are still not out, it seems that Berry, if cast, would be playing the role of a college professor.

PBS to Begin Airing (Gasp!) Commercials!

Sure, it's a little dry. Yes, it's all educational and stuff. But there was always one great thing about PBS: no commercials! For years, PBS has been using an advertising model specific to their network: air the program, then air sponsor messages at the very end, in between programs. It's certainly nice for the viewers, and it means that PBS doesn't have to worry about appeasing any advertisers, leaving them free to produce the kind of thoughtful, educational content that nobody really wants to watch all that much.

First up, the Los Angeles Times blog 24 Frames is reporting that recent Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg and Naomi Watts are in talks for writer/director Noah Baumbach's next film, "While We're Young."

In a summer that marks a possible new beginning for DC Comics, the company has announced that it will be revamping its universe of superheroes, updating them for a more modern world. DC heroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern will be getting updates to their costumes and their stories as the company begins releasing a barrage of new #1 issues for 50 of their major titles, including the "Justice League" as re-done by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.

Disney has already adapted amusement park rides into four-part movie franchises, so why not a radio story? "The Girlfriend Equation" has just been picked up by Disney, who will produce a film based on the story. The story originally ran in an episode of the public radio program "This American Life" back in 2009, and tells the true story of a Harvard mathematician who attempted to find the girl of his dreams by using math.
