You can take the girl out of the Jersey Shore, but you can't take the Jersey Shore out of the girl. And you certainly can't keep her from getting arrested, either.
"Jersey Shore" star Snooki was taken into police custody in Florence, Italy while shooting the fourth season of the hit MTV show. Apparently, Snooki was driving (with Jwoww in the passenger seat) and wasn't paying attention, and she got into a little fender-bender.

Many of the younger roles in the movie adaptation of "The Hunger Games" have been filled, but one big older role was left open: that of the villainous President Snow. As of today, the role is open no longer: THR is reporting that veteran actor Donald Sutherland has filled the role, adding another big name to the already talented cast. Sutherland joins Woody Harrelson, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, and a host of others.

The countdown can officially begin!
A joint announcement has been released from Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and MGM regarding the official titles and release dates for the highly anticipated two-movie adaptation of "The Hobbit."

Here's a great example of how not to dispel rumors of an affair, courtesy of Gwyneth Paltrow.
Rumors have sprung up recently that Gwyneth, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, had an affair with Matthew Morrison during her stint on "Glee." Paltrow has of course been denying those rumors, but seems to think that her denial didn't stick, as she has now decided to drop out of the "Glee" live tour.

Mariska Hargitay is reportedly taking the news hard that she'll be moving on without her 13-year "Law & Order: SVU" co-lead Christopher Meloni.
It was made official this past week that Meloni will leave the show this season after contract negotiations couldn't yield a new deal. Since 1999, Meloni and Hargitay have anchored the "Law & Order" police procedural spin-off drama as lead Manhattan Special Victims Unit detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson.

It wasn't so long ago that Yidio reported that acclaimed but controversial "Dogtown" and "Antichrist" director Lars Von Trier had landed a plumb gig rehashing his directorial challenge "The Five Obstructions" alongside Martin Scorsese. As a matter of fact, what was to be the first Scorsese film Von Trier challenged the man to remake? Why, the Robert De Niro-starring classic "Taxi Driver."

You have to assume that Matteo Renzi, the Mayor of Florence, saw this one coming.
We reported a while back that Renzi had laid out a few ground rules for the "Jersey Shore" cast and crew as they came to Florence, Italy to shoot season four. Those included showing the city in a positive light and not being filmed drinking in a public place, even a bar or club that served alcohol. Surprise, surprise, the cast seems to have broken the rules...
