Check it out, everybody! Somebody liked Disney's "John Carter" after all! Lots of people liked it, in fact - just not Americans, according to The Huffington Post. In its first 10 days on screens in China, Disney's most questionable release in years made $10.4 million in its opening weekend and a total $29.8 million in its first 10 days. The opening weekend numbers alone were good enough for Disney's second-highest Chinese opening weekend ever.

Judge Ends Lindsay Lohan's Formal Probation

Let this further support the idea that maybe Lindsay Lohan has changed - and that the right people have noticed. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner Thursday released an overjoyed Lohan from two years spent on occasionally violated supervised probation, the Associated Press reported. The 25-year-old "Mean Girls" and "Herbie: Fully Loaded" star's legal entanglements began with a 2010 DUI arrest and continued with a 2011 jewelry-theft charge.

FOX Gives 'Bones' Eighth-Season Green Light

"Bones" had a somewhat topsy-turvy year schedule-wise, but it remained a hit and FOX rewarded it in kind. The science-meets-law-enforcement procedural starring David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel has been given FOX's first drama renewal of the year, guaranteeing an eighth season this coming fall, Entertainment Weekly reports.

AMC Theaters Reach 'Bully' Rating Compromise

With the film premiering Friday, "Bully" distributors The Weinstein Co. had to call an audible this week and give the documentary about peer-abusing adolescents an "Unrated" tag instead of the Motion Picture Association of America's "R" rating. Because the film couldn't catch a break over one scene's language, AMC Theaters have offered a compromise so the movie can be seen by its intended audience, Reuters reports.
