At least this doesn't have the horrible, horrible context of Chris Brown dancing around at the Grammys. Instead, he's been added to a list of Billboard Music Awards performers that already includes Justin Bieber, LMFAO, Linkin Park and Usher. Brown himself is up for four awards, including Best Male Artist.

Is this really the best way to go about securing a child's future? Lifetime's approval of a reality series chronicling Whitney Houston's family's grieving process made Friday headlines. Now, details emerge that Cissy Houston believes that the series could be the platform that launches Whitney's daughter Bobbi Kristina's singing career. That poor woman. It never works out that simply.

And the winner is....People Magazine! Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson have awarded to the weekly the privilege of taking the first baby pics of daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson. The cost? Six figures, nearly $1 million. It could be worse: it was only four years ago that first pics of Jennifer Lopez's twins cost the magazine $6 million.

It's lived about as long as any show could expect - and on the lowest rung of the network totem pole, no less. But alas, next season will be the last for "Gossip Girl". It's sixth and final outing will be a mere 11 episodes. Returning alongside it? "The Vampire Diaries", "Supernatural", "90201" and a few others.
