Testimony wrapped up today in William Balfour's Chicago first-degree murder trial without Balfour himself taking the stand in his defense. Balfour stands accused of murdering "American Idol" runner-up and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew in October 2008. The jury will hear closing arguments Wednesday morning, followed by deliberating a verdict.

It may be getting very, very real on NBC's "The Voice" finale tonight. Judges Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine has been tense all season. Producers are allegedly prepared for a full-scale blow-up tonight when the show goes live. In fact, Levine allegedly wants his band Maroon 5 to redo "Moves Like Jagger" so that he can nix Aguilera's guest verse.

Funny how the memory works. We'd all like to think that once something's been repeated enough times, it gets in our head and never leaves. As Sheryl Crow was reminded this past Saturday, it doesn't always work that way. The news out of NBC today paints a questionable picture of justice in prime time. Amid ever-falling ratings, "30 Rock" looks destined to be taken behind the barn this fall. So it also goes that a couple freshman comedies that got full-season runs look endangered. Meanwhile, "Community" and "Parks & Recreation" are rumored to be safe for the 2012-2013 season, but in such small portions....
