Now, let's talk about a "Happy Endings" relationship on the rocks, new ones taking shape, a dream casting reuniting a couple former co-stars on another series as father-and-daughter again.

In hindsight, Dan Cathy could've taken a less-is-more approach. The Chick-fil-A president decided to speak out against gay marriage. Hollywood has taken up its considerable arms against the national chicken chain. Now, even the Muppets won't touch them with a 10-foot pole.

Now, taking the time to get healthy has landed him a breach of contract lawsuit over an anti-fat cream he had been tapped to endorse.

Sure, he won a boatload of gold medals. Still, Ronda Rousey finds swimming legend Michael Phelps to be quite the bastard. The 2008 Olympic bronze-medalist lady judoka and Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion isn't impressed by Phelps' athleticism, nor how he carried himself when last they met.

In the end, there was no way it could stay. Penn State officials announced early this morning that the statue honoring disgraced late head football coach Joe Paterno will be removed immediately. The monument is a casualty of the scandal trailing revelations that University officials actively shielded former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky from allegations of and investigation into the sexual abuse of minors by the coach through University resources.

It's not a given yet, but it's very much possible that the Spider-Man franchise could soon be on its third director in five films. A Columbia Pictures executive recently revealed that director Marc Webb may not be able to make such an involved schedule for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."

Hey, it worked wonder for "New Girl." Fox clearly noticed the way that previewing last year's freshman comedy sensation starring Zooey Deschanel built buzz. This season, "Ben & Kate" and "The Mindy Project" are getting similar advance previews via multiple online platforms.

It was a wave-making story from San Diego Comic-Con that Jessica Biel was in talks to join the cast of 2013's "X-Men" spin-off sequel "The Wolverine."
