July 10, 2014 @ 3:44 pm PST    The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon     Andy Neuenschwander
If you're one of the people who doesn't like Jimmy Fallon very much, here's some ammunition based in cold, hard facts: Jimmy just doesn't talk very much on his talk show. This is according to a study performed by Stephen Winzenburg, communications professor at Grand View University. We know that the term "study" is being used fairly loosely here, but we're willing to overlook that.

Laverne Cox made history today...but we're not sure it's sunk in for her yet. The "Orange Is the New Black" actress became the first transgender person in history to earn an acting nomination at the Emmy Awards. Her nomination in the "Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series" category was announced this morning. "I absolutely dreamed about this," Cox told E! News in an interview today.

If you check out the list of 2014 Emmy Awards nominations, and look all the way down at the bottom of the list, you'll see a category with a confusing name: "Best Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program." What the heck does that even mean? Basically, a short-format program is anything that's not a full half-hour or hour-long show. As a result, you usually only see these nominees in the form of online videos that accompany full shows, as is the case with this year's "Parks & Recreation" nomination.

This Is the One Huge Snub of the 2014 Emmy Nominations
July 10, 2014 @ 12:14 pm PST    Orphan Black     Andy Neuenschwander
Overall, the list of nominations for this year's Emmy Awards is encouraging. Gone are most of the crappy network sitcoms (except for one) that gummed up the works and blocked the likes of "Louie" from getting nominated. However, no matter what, there will always be at least one big snub. This year, that snub is Tatiana Maslany of "Orphan Black." And it's a big one.

2014 Emmy Nominations: See If Your Favorite Show Made the List!
July 10, 2014 @ 10:31 am PST    The Emmy Awards     Andy Neuenschwander
It's that time of year again! Time to celebrate over your favorite show's victories or rant at no one in particular over how your favorite show got snubbed. It's Emmy season. The nominations were announced this morning by Carson Daly and Mindy Kaling, and while many of the shows are familiar ones on the Emmy lists ("Breaking Bad" or "Mad Men" for example), there are some newcomers like "Orange is the New Black" and "True Detective" making a big splash.

Farrah Abraham, now known to most whether they watched the video or not as Backdoor Teen Mom, has a new venture: She's starting a frozen yogurt shop. Yes, surprisingly her long-term financial and career goals weren't met by the proceeds of her porn video, or as she would have you believe against all completely obvious evidence to the contrary, her "private sex tape." So now, the girl whom you can see participating in anal sex and handling various bodily fluids through a quick Google search is now going to try to sell you food.

Rosie O'Donnell Might Rejoin 'The View' After Controversial Exit 7 Years Ago
July 08, 2014 @ 3:49 pm PST    The View     Andy Neuenschwander
There's been a lot of casting talk concerning "The View," but we're still surprised to hear about this. Rosie O'Donnell is reportedly considering a return to the show, according to a source close to "The View." The speculation is interesting, considering the fact that Rosie used to be a panelist on the show before exiting about seven years ago after some public verbal sparring matches against then co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Watch the Extended 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Trailer
July 08, 2014 @ 3:24 pm PST    Guardians of the Galaxy     Andy Neuenschwander
No more teaser trailers! Marvel has released an extended "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer, featuring more than two minutes of footage. Not only is it a long trailer, but most of the footage in here is new, never-before-seen stuff. And it looks goooooood. The tone changes a bit here to show that, while there will be a lot of laughs and fun in this installment in the Marvel franchise, there's a serious side to it also.
