Jenny McCarthy, at 39, Is Nude in Playboy Once Again (See the Cover)
June 25, 2012 @ 1:55 pm PST    Love In The Wild     Andy Neuenschwander
The more things change, the more they stay naked. Er--the same. The more they stay the same. Ahem. Jenny McCarthy, whose title is probably somewhere between "TV personality" and "unqualified health advocate" at present, has posed nude for Playboy. That's nothing new for McCarthy: in fact, she started her career as a Playmate. What's notable is that McCarthy is doing this recent nude spread nearly two decades after her first one.

Charlie Sheen: Still Drinking, Done With Rehab
June 25, 2012 @ 1:37 pm PST    Anger Management, Two and a Half Men     Sean Comer
Anybody else remember the scene in "Memento" wherein Leonard Shelby tells a crooked hotel clerk, "At least you're honest about ripping me off?" One wonders, what's it like for FX, knowing Charlie Sheen's past, to admit straight-up that he won't be back to rehab and doesn't plan on stopping his drinking? Must be the more nerve-racking for the network with Sheen's "Anger Management" premiering Thursday evening.

Once More, Kris Jenner Unhappy About A Kardashian Coupling
June 25, 2012 @ 1:36 pm PST    Keeping Up with The Kardashians, Oprah's Next Chapter     Sean Comer
Here's an idea for a reality show: strand the Kardashians on the most remote island possible, and allow open betting on who eats who first. Kris Jenner just can't seem to stop nipping at her daughters' heels. On last night's "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," she went right after Kourtney's "indecisive" nature toward marriage and raising children.

June 25, 2012 @ 1:12 pm PST    Weeds, Episodes, The Newsroom     Andy Neuenschwander
On Sunday night, HBO's new Aaron Sorkin series "The Newsroom" premiered to a solid 2.1 million viewers, making it the pay channel's best drama debut since 2008. It went so well, in fact, that HBO is ready to share the premiere episode with everyone, whether they subscribe to HBO or not.

'Falling Skies' Season 2, Episode 3 Recap - 'Compass'
June 24, 2012 @ 9:20 pm PST    Falling Skies     Andy Neuenschwander
It's cute how this show assumes that we care in the slightest about Jimmy, isn't it? Here's a tip, guys: if you want us to care about a character, you have to have them do something likeable first. You can't just have them nearly get everyone killed in season one because he wanted to save his dog and then assume we'll care what happens to him later.

'True Blood' Season 5, Episode 3 Recap - 'Whatever I Am, You Made Me'
June 24, 2012 @ 8:51 pm PST    True Blood     Andy Neuenschwander
There are a lot of words to describe "True Blood," but "cohesive" is not usually one of them. The storylines are so willy-nilly these days that it's hard to even fit them all into each episode, much less keep track of them.

OPINION: Why 'Brave' Is Good for Girls, and Why You Shouldn't Assume Merida Is Gay
June 24, 2012 @ 6:14 pm PST    Brave     Andy Neuenschwander
There's a problem in Hollywood (and the rest of the world for that matter, but let's keep it small and manageable), and it is a lack of truly strong, independent female protagonists. It's not all the fault of the studios, either: in a world where "Twilight" makes billions, one has to assume that a character like Bella resonates with young females. And sadly, she does.

Joe Manganiello Pulls Doritos out of His Beer Belly in the Weirdest Video of the Week
June 22, 2012 @ 3:17 pm PST    Magic Mike, The Soup, True Blood     Andy Neuenschwander
It's Friday, so presumably you were expecting to go to your last day of work or class for the week and then kick back and enjoy the start of your weekend. You were probably not expecting to see Kylie Minogue eating Doritos off of Joe Manganiello's pot belly.
