The door has finally been opened: an initial four-team college football playoff format has been supported by BCS commissioners and Notre Dame's Jack Swarbick. The proposed playoff would begin in 2014, with the four-team field selected based on schedule strength and conference championships. However, it still faces the final hurdle of the BCS presidential oversight committee's vote on June 26 in Washington, D.C.

Bad ideas have ways of sorting themselves out. Jim Carrey has reportedly bowed out of a third "Dumb and Dumber" movie because the project supposedly wasn't progressing at a speed to his liking. Consequently, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema are now reportedly reluctant to make the movie without him.

More than a decade ago, Pixar introduced us to the world of "Monsters, Inc." and taught us a few things about the value of laughter, both as a power source for monsters and as a source for a successful animated film. Now Pixar is giving us another "Monsters" movie, but despite it coming ten years later, it will actually be a prequel.
