Elton John Band Member Bob Birch Found Dead, Apparent Suicide

The music world lost a veteran sideman Wednesday morning. Bassist Bob Birch, a 20-year member of Elton John's band, was found dead near his home at age 55. With no reported evidence of foul play, his shooting death is being treated as an apparent suicide.

The PC maker's customer-service reps are notoriously frustrating in the first place, but the magazine's undercover operation proved they'll also go above and beyond the call of duty using out-and-out lies to bilk customers into buying expensive optional warranties.

Summer Olympics be damned, fans clearly missed "America's Got Talent." With NBC's Summer Olympics coverage concluding, the competition returned Tuesday night to a steady rating that carried NBC to an early-week ratings crown. FOX made a go of it, though, with the return of its Gordon Ramsay block and earned a close second-place.
