If the Summer Olympics to you are like an epic Christmas present that you only get to open every four years, then you know just where to be for the next eight years to tear off the wrapping.
NBC Universal announced Tuesday that the Peacock Network has locked in unprecedented broadcast rights for the next four Winter and Summer Olympics in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020, at a price of a scant $4.

The premiere of the new ABC Family series "Switched at Birth" drew in a record-breaking 3.3 million viewers, giving it the highest-rated series debut for ABC Family ever. Those numbers were enough to dethrone "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," which debuted roughly three seasons ago to an audience of 2.8 million.
These are impressive numbers for a cable network, especially one that's just beginning to find its identity through its original content.

Here's your daily dose of silliness, in case you needed it.
Kristin Wiig and Maya Rudolph, both "Saturday Night Live" alumni who starred in the underdog hit "Bridesmaids," were doing an interview for a French entertainment network when the subject of fart jokes came up. A few minutes later, Kristin Wiig was literally in tears.
It all started with Rudolph casually referencing a movie full of farts as a bad idea.

Just a few days ago, Reese Witherspoon took an indirect shot at Kim Kardashian during the MTV Movie Awards, saying that she always thought that sex tapes were something to be hidden away. Now it looks like someone else is taking shots at Kim K: "Nurse Jackie" star Edie Falco.
The oft-nominated Falco sat down with Vulture to discuss the biz and the upcoming Emmy race, and the subject turned to reality TV.

Typically, the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo is only big TV news to those who could tell you without checking a cable guide when the next showing of "Campus P.D." is on G4 or the exact angle and curvature of Olivia Munn's left nostril.
But exactly do you say when an upcoming game is also set to join Syfy'ss viewing lineup?
This year's version of the annual video game expo also marks the debut of "Defiance," a massively multi-player (that's MMO, in gamer parlance) shooter that's soon available across multiple gaming platforms.

And everything was going so well, too. If you've followed the scuttlebutt online, this was indeed the week of "The Bachelorette" in which the wheels started falling off. A couple contestants took some massive gambles this week. One contestant crapped out. Another may be X-rayed next week to uncover the horseshoe clearly hidden up his ass. But above all else, in a first in seven seasons, one contestant's actions very nearly put a fatal bullet in the entire season.

Warner Brothers has released eight clips from their upcoming superhero film, and they look pretty spectacular, displaying a level of scope and imagination heretofore unseen in the onslaught of superhero films we've been treated to over the last decade. They don't get very far into the plot, so watch them here without fear of major spoilers!

When HBO's "Game of Thrones" arrived on the scene, there were questions as to whether or not it was going to work. After all, it's tough to introduce a TV audience to an entirely new fantasy world with tons of characters and intricate political intrigue in just one hour a week.
But "Game of Thrones" has proven over time that quality wins out over the general public's short attention span.
