Jay Leno Hears Crickets After Casey Anthony Jokes (VIDEO)
July 06, 2011 @ 5:20 am PST    The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report     Andy Neuenschwander
You know your joke is bad when your audience, who spent hours waiting outside in line to get into your show and is prompted to laugh at your every word, goes silent. We're looking at you, Jay Leno. Leno was one of only a few news-covering comedians on the air last night, as "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" were on vacation. So it was up to Jay to joke about Casey Anthony, who was determined innocent last night of everything except for providing false information to police officers, which is a misdemeanor.

"White Collar" fans, if you want "Blood," you've got it. Recently leaked set pictures confirm that "True Blood" star Joe Manganiello is coming to the USA original cops-and-heisters-helping-the-cops dramedy just a little later this season. Reports suggest that the 34-year-old Manganiello will play an ex-con who stirs up trouble with FBI agent Peter Burke and wife Elizabeth (Tim DeKay and Tiffani Thiessen).

The fifth season of USA Network's "Burn Notice" is about to get a little injection of charisma... Charisma Carpenter that is. Carpenter is most famous for her portrayal of another sharp-tongued queen bee, Cordelia Chase on the cult scifi hits "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel." The Buffy and Angel veteran will guest star in the 11th episode of the show as Nicki, a sharp-tongued trophy wife.

Episode 'White Collar' Season 3, Episode 4 - 'Veiled Threat' Recap
July 06, 2011 @ 5:00 am PST    White Collar     Sean Comer
Just where would Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) be without Neal Caffrey (Matthew Bomer)? Surprisingly, the suit does OK on his own. "Pick a deed, any deed," Neal says, assuring Peter that the solution to their ongoing mortgage-fraud investigation amounts to little more than luck of the draw - and elementary deduction. The white-collar hall-of-famer explains gently to his straight-laced FBI cohort that he neednt even guess what card Peter drew.

Australian 'Captain America' Trailer Tweaks Tagline For Foreign Audiences
July 06, 2011 @ 4:45 am PST    Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers     Sean Comer
Well, sure, uber-patriotic source material was lending "Captain America: The First Avenger" a tough foreign sell in the first place. But that doesn't mean Marvel can't try to be accommodating. Australia's first official trailer for the superhero precursor to 2012's team-up blockbuster "The Avengers" hit the Internet July 5, and they've abandoned the tagline, "Heroes are made in America" in favor of the more global "When evil rises, a hero will stand."

July 06, 2011 @ 4:00 am PST    X-Men: First Class, X-Men, X2, Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man     Sean Comer
Fans defy critics all the time. Critics, more often than not, love things that often bore fans and hate things audiences eat up with a spoon. But the bottom line? It rarely lies, and often foretells the sequel-or-no-sequel future. Except in this case. Though it flew beneath 20 Century Fox's earning expectations - no matter how much core audiences seemingly loved it - it looks like director Matthew Vaughn could very likely get a second crack at the continuing "X-Men: First Class" saga.

July 05, 2011 @ 8:27 pm PST    American Idol     Andy Neuenschwander
If you're going to get eliminated from "American Idol," just do it with some pizzazz and everything will be fine. Take Pia Toscano, for example: the talented singer was looking good through the competition until a sub-par night had her up for elimination next to Stefano. In a shocking vote, Pia was eliminated, and the coaches couldn't do anything about it as they had already used their "save" on Casey Abrams.

It's a mad, mad world out there boys and girls, and if the kids on Twitter think you're guilty, you better watch out. They just might send a fictional serial killer your way. Since the Casey Anthony verdict was released this afternoon, causing anger and controversy (including towards Kim Kardashian), fans of the Showtime show "Dexter" have been calling on fictional vigilante serial character Dexter Morgan to mete out the justice they think a jury was incapable of administering.
