Michael Bay brought his own fireworks to theaters this weekend with the typically explosion-heavy "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the third movie in the "Transformers" series. How did it do at the box office? Quite well: over the three-day weekend, "Transformers 3" grossed $97 million, giving it the best domestic opening of the year.
