"The Vampire Diaries" has a new cast member, and it's someone who is already pretty familiar to those who watch a lot of CW programming.

Be still my gossip-loving heart. The production team behind "Gossip Girl" has been tapped to adapt the New York Times bestselling young adult book series "The Luxe" for the silver screen. The production company Fake Empire, run by "Gossip Girl" executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, is teaming up with Alloy Entertainment to bring the film adaptation to Paramount studios.

The first preview for "The X Factor" aired last night during the All-Star Game, and if you're a Simon Cowell fan, it probably really had you worried for a bit.
The promo shows a "nicer" version of the Cowell we know, with a pink sweater and an environmentally responsible car (is this an "X Factor" promo or a Chevy commercial?). He, along with his co-judges Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger, sit and watch horrible singer after horrible singer...and Simon loves them all!

That didn't take too long! Just about a month ago, we reported that Laurence Fishburne was leaving "CSI" after two and a half seasons on the sciencey crimey show. Now, it looks like CBS has found his replacement: Ted Danson.
Yes, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning star of "Cheers" will be the one to analyze DNA samples and bust criminals now that Fishburne has departed.

If you didn't know any better, you would think that announcing the Emmy nominations would be a walk in the park: you just stand there and read of a teleprompter, right? Wrong! It takes intense training and hours of getting punched in the face! At least, that's what "Community" and "The Soup" star Joel McHale would have you believe. This hilarious video features "Bridesmaids" star Melissa McCarthy, who is set to announce the Emmy nominees this year, approaching Joel McHale and asking for advice.

It's down to six this week, and the "American Idiot: Asiatour" is making one last stop before the serious business of hometown dates starts next week - Asia's Hidden Jewel, Taiwan. Ashley is starting out this week feeling footloose and fancy-free, ready for a fresh start of good times and great memories, "Putting the past in the past and starting anew."

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I suppose...even when you're talking about Larry David. The season eight premiere of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," which aired on Sunday, was the most-watched episode of "Curb" in over seven years. The premiere at 10pm drew in 1.7 million viewers, and the show gained about 400,000 more for the repeat showing at midnight for a total of 2.

Getting "Trapped in the Closet" is going to be easy to get out of compared to the foreclosure proceedings R. Kelly is reportedly facing on his South Suburban Chicago home.
According to a recently released report by Crain's Chicago Business, the talented and troubled Grammy Award-winning singer is facing a $2.9 million dollar foreclosure lawsuit on his home in Olympia Fields, IL, just outside of Chicago.

Call it symbolic or call it annoying. Either way, Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently going to make another bid for your attention and your dollars with a new western called "The Last Stand," after being publicly disgraced for admitting that he had fathered a love child during his term as California's Governor, while married to Maria Shriver. According to unnamed reps from Lionsgate, Arnold will star as an aging sheriff who battles a drug cartel on a border town.

"Jersey Shore" is now in the middle of shooting season five, but if you'll remember all the way back to season one, you might recall Ronnie punching a dude in the face, on camera. Bad move, buddy.
It looked as though Ronnie was headed to the slammer for sure, but some fancy lawyering has gotten him out of that. In fact, Ronnie will not only avoid jail time, but he'll come out of this without a criminal record at all.
