August 17, 2011 @ 1:21 pm PST    True Blood, Wonderland     Richard Sharp
There's no blood and no fangs to be found in the script, but the triangular love drama and Southern-fried dysfunction sounds awfully familiar. Anna Paquin (aka Sookie Stackhouse from "True Blood") has joined Luke Wilson and Ryan Phillipe on the cast of the dramatic comedy "Straight A's." The film is directed by James Cox, who directed "Wonderland" - a movie about porn star John Holmes.

Lady Gaga's 'You and I' Video: Watch it Here
August 17, 2011 @ 7:04 am PST    MTV Video Music Awards     Richard Sharp
It's odd, really, the new Lady Gaga video. Not odd that it's odd, of course, but odd that such an odd video is paired with a song that really is just a few steps away from a country song. I mean really, "You and I" could very well be sung by Shania Twain at some sort of country music awards ceremony, and no one would be the wiser. So yeah, the video for "You and I" is out and it's predictably weird and way pro-Nebraska. Watch it here.

Abercrombie & Fitch Offers to Pay 'Jersey Shore' Cast to NOT Wear Its Clothes
August 17, 2011 @ 6:39 am PST    Jersey Shore     Andy Neuenschwander
Brands are usually trying to get the cast of "Jersey Shore," particularly Snooki and The Situation, to endorse their products. Heck, Sitch even got a six-figure deal to endorse a line of tuxedos. But there's one clothing company that doesn't want the "Shore" crew anywhere near them: Abercrombie & Fitch. The preppy clothing chain noticed that some of the cast members, particularly The Situation, were often wearing their clothes. So they're offering the crew money NOT to wear their clothing.

'Will & Grace' Star Sean Hayes Developing Sitcom About Gay Parents Raising a Child
August 17, 2011 @ 6:37 am PST    Will & Grace, Rescue Me, Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family     Andy Neuenschwander
I have a TV pitch for you: two guys raise a kid together. Pretty good, right? No? What do you mean, it sounds exactly like "Two and a Half Men?" This one is different: rather than having the parenting coming from a totally hetero guy and a slightly less hetero guy, these parents will be a gay couple.

Yidio Video of the Day: Supercut of 172 Movie and TV Characters Yelling 'Silence!'
August 17, 2011 @ 6:37 am PST    Mad Men, Fargo, Futurama, Family Guy, Shakespeare in Love, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Wizard of Oz, G.I. Joe     Andy Neuenschwander
You might have seen a very funny supercut a while back that compiled every instance of Jon Hamm as Don Draper saying "What?" into one video. Well, that same supercutter has struck again. The new project is called "The Sounds of Silence," but it's anything but quiet: the almost 4-minute video is a supercut of 172 characters from movies and TV yelling "Silence!" Sometimes it's to another character, sometimes it's to a crowd, but as it turns out there are a lot of instances where this happens.

August 16, 2011 @ 1:50 pm PST    American Idol     Andy Neuenschwander
Nobody knows how to slow-play the hype leading up to a music video release quite like Lady Gaga does. Since she's so involved online, there are always leaks of photos and clips here and there to keep fans interested until the video finally drops...and "You and I" is no exception. Though the video hasn't hit yet, a number of production stills from the video have been released and are making their rounds on the Web. See them here.
