It was hardly needed, but Mariah Carey didn't mind carrying off a little false modesty Thursday night. "I didn't realize this was a big deal," the fairly new mother of two said. The Grammy-collecting songbird was making her performing return before several hundred fans at New York's Gotham Hall - complete with touching up her makeup and swapping shoes mid-show without looking a bit out of place in a sleeveless, curve-hugging black dress.

A Newark, NJ funeral home owner claims the most obvious answer to who leaked a controversial photo of the late Whitney Houston isn't necessarily the right one. Carolyn Whigham, who owns and operates Newark's Whigham Funeral Home, denies that she or her business' employees leaked a photo of Houston laying in her casket to the National Enquirer, reports The Huffington Post.

Preliminary results indicate that a severe heart attack killed Monkees lead singer Davy Jones Wednesday at the age of 66, according to Entertainment Weekly. Thursday morning's preliminary autopsy by Martin County (Fla.) Chief Medical Examiner Roger E. Mittleman determined, specifically, that Jones seemingly succumbed to a severe heart attack. More will be known a month or so from now, with full toxicology results.

Remember to tread lightly when telling Michaal Jackson's kin that what they say came from the King of Pop himself isn't all it seems. Paris Jackson, Michael's 13-year-old daughter, fired right back Wednesday via Twitter at media claiming that it's an impersonator singing at least one of the late Michael's songs on the posthumous 2010 set simply called Michael, "Hold My Hand."
