With Emmy submission season upon the television community, Ed Helms of "The Office" and "Mad Men" star January Jones have decided they'll heed words once spoken by "Cathy" cartoonist Cathy Guisewite: "If at first you don't succeed, try something different." The two are respectively swapping out their traditional Emmy categories and breaking some new ground.

So if Barack Obama can moonlight during his first term in office as an ESPN college basketball analyst, it's not entirely impossible that stopping by "Saturday Night Live" could lift Mitt Romney to a hit presidential campaign.

Despite reports otherwise, the esteemed British actress' representatives deny she's asked that "Downton Abbey" writers write her Dowager Countess Viola Grantham a graceful exit for the recent hit's coming third season, The New York Daily News reports this morning.

True, many believe that FOX's acclaimed Hugh Laurie drama "House" has run its tank dry after eight seasons, the current one being the last. For all those who agree that eight has been enough, there will be plenty who just have a little trouble grasping FOX Monday nights without "House". The network and Ubisoft apparently gave that a little thought and on Tuesday, launched the "House M.D.: Critical Cases" Facebook game.

Throw Howard Stern into any given mix, and controversy comes standard with the finished product. There's sometimes just no telling how the kerfuffle comes packaged. Stern has been talking up his upcoming gig as the latest "America's Got Talent" judge on his Sirius XM radio show at a non-stop clip. His mind has become so one-track, in fact, that fellow funnyman Judd Apatow can't take another word.
