With the horrible, horrible song choices that the judges provided in the Top Three round of "American Idol," one shudders to think of what we'll have to listen to for the all-country finale showdown between Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina. I can tell you that if there's any more "I Hope You Dance," I'm going to Hope I Die.
This should come as good news, then: Carrie Underwood and George Strait will be picking a couple of the songs for the finalists to sing this week.

It's almost time for Nationals, and "Glee" wants everyone to be as excited about it as possible. Like, maybe as if it were a real national glee club competition and we were all going.
So, a sneak peek of the upcoming finale episode, "New York," has hit the Web. The clip features a performance from all the kids as they arrive in New York City and, as a bunch of kids from Nowhere, Ohio probably would, dance around and sing about how great New York City is.

Apparently, "Mad Men" star January Jones thinks "Hangover: Part II" actor Zach Galifianakis is hilarious: she mentioned in the past that she thinks Zach is "the most naturally funny man she's ever met." Zach's response? "That's really funny...because, if I remember correctly, we were very rude to each other."

The promo team at HBO has kept the fervor going for a long while over the new season of "True Blood," which is set to come out June 26th. We got a teaser trailer a couple weeks ago, and now they've released a more detailed look at the fourth, upcoming season of the show. There's plenty of Jason Stackhouse writhing about shirtless, shape-shifters galore, a constantly surprised Sookie, and lots of witchy coven action to boot.

Some of you might remember a while back when we reported that Quentin Tarantino, writer/director of such instant classics as "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill," was suing "True Blood" creator Alan Ball over a bunch of squawking birds in Ball's back yard. Tarantino, who lives next door to Ball, claimed that he was unable to work at home on his writing because of the incessant screeching coming from Ball's Macaw parrots.

Fairy tales are back, baby! Just as Disney decided to give up on princesses, other studios are looking at remaking all of the classics.
Besides "Sleeping Beauty" and "Snow White" (x2), "The Little Mermaid" will be the next fairy tale princess to get a dark remake. Sony has picked up the project, which is titled "Mermaid: A Twist on the Classic Tale."

Those familiar with nerd culture know who Chris Hardwick is. He's the guy who hosts "Web Soup" and makes appearances on "Attack of the Show" on the G4 channel, he's one half of the musical comedy group Hard n' Phirm, and he's the guy who has the top-rated comedy podcast on iTunes, "The Nerdist Podcast."
Those not familiar with nerd culture know who Hardwick is, too.

I've always sort of believed Jenna Fischer was a good actress. I mean, she's great on "The Office," don't get me wrong, but it's a hard role to make a real case for her. Especially lately when the show's been cutting her character so many breaks.
Well, the other night I caught a screening of "A Little Help," the feature film debut of longtime television writer/producer Michel J. Weithorn, and am pleased to report than Jenna Fischer can, indeed, act. Watch the trailer for "A Little Help" here.

"We're about to do Jedi, aren't we?" asks Stewie as the episode opens. The tone in his (Seth MacFarlane's) voice is trepidatious, as though this really wasn't the plan.
Sure enough, the scroll at the beginning tells us to lower our expectations: the writers were exhausted, and they didn't really want to do more than just "Blue Harvest" in the first place. And sure enough, the episode isn't nearly as funny as "Blue Harvest" was. You get the feeling throughout this "Return of the Jedi" spoof that the writers just weren't having much fun.
