With the debate over raising the debt ceiling still raging in Washington, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy decided that his Republican troops needed a morale boost. So, McCarthy did what motivators and middle school teachers everywhere do when they need to rally their followers: he showed them a movie clip. Universal Studios and Hasbro have apparently spent $200 million creating a new movie based on the kids' game Battleship. Yup, you heard me right. Battleship. Apparently Connect Four was on a rehab stint or something. While the cast of the film includes some talent, including "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard, Liam Neeson, and even Rihanna (?!), it looks amazingly bad. Watch the trailer here.

Just as things were starting to look good (at least romantically) for Eric Northman on "True Blood," the actor who plays him has a bit of bad luck in love: Alexander Skarsgard has split from his girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Bosworth, who has recently appeared in "Superman Returns" and "21," was formerly romantically linked to Orlando Bloom, who is now married to Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr.

Blake Lively as "Sex and the City" seductress Samantha? Selena Gomez as good girl Charlotte? If rumors regarding a possible prequel movie to "Sex and the City" are true, it just might happen. UK tabloid The Daily Mirror is reporting that a third "Sex and the City" movie is underway, and casting has begun, and the producers are aiming for Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts' niece Emma Roberts and Mary-Kate and Ashley sister Elizabeth Olsen in the lead role of Carrie Bradshaw.

The latest casualty on AMC's smash hit "The Walking Dead" surprisingly isn't zombie-related. It's behind-the-scenes instead. Showrunner and executive producer Frank Darabont has stepped down from his duties leading the zombie pack, according to Deadline Hollywood. Looks like producers will soon be picking their brainnnnnssss for a way to replace him. Sorry. We all knew that pun had to happen eventually.

Back in March of this year, we speculated that American Idol third place runner-up Haley Reinhart already had a record deal in place based on hints her parents dropped about a new single. Turns out we may have been right. Interscope Records confirmed reports today that they had signed the popular 'Idol' contestant to a record deal.
