August 03, 2011 @ 11:33 am PST    Behind The Music, American Idol     Andy Neuenschwander
VH1's "Behind the Music" on Adam Lambert is coming up, and judging by this preview video, it looks like it's going to deliver on its promises of revealing more about Lambert's rise to fame than ever before. Did "American Idol" deliberately play up Lambert's sexuality in a bid to draw in more viewers? Lambert famous lost the "American Idol" crown to Kris Allen amid speculation that Lambert was gay. It was that fact that many think might have caused Lambert to lose, seeing as "Idol" winners are determined solely by a fan vote.

August 03, 2011 @ 10:19 am PST    American Idol     Andy Neuenschwander
It would seem that the producers of "American Idol" can rest easy now that Jennifer Lopez is back on board. After all, she was part of the new judging panel that lead the reality show to a resurgence after a few years of languishing ratings. But with J.Lo's pay jumping from the $12 million that she got for last season to a whopping $20 million for this coming season, is her return really the best thing for "American Idol" and its fans?

August 03, 2011 @ 9:29 am PST    The Shawshank Redemption     Andy Neuenschwander
A tree in Ohio is in danger of dying. That wouldn't normally be news, but when the tree is the famous oak that played a major role in "The Shawshank Redemption," it is. A harsh storm last week damaged the tree to the point where it might have to be cut down. Recent photos of the tree show that the trunk was split near the bottom and half the tree is now on the ground.

August 03, 2011 @ 9:00 am PST    Funny or Die Presents...     Sean Comer
To the very best of my knowledge, a parody website has never won a Pulitzer Prize, Peabody Award, Cleo or Humanitas. But with God, Buddha, Xenu, Goku, Darth Vader and Lord Sauron Himself as my witnesses, I will walk through Hellfire, Brimstone and Ashley Hebert dramatically interpreting Charles Dickens to ensure that FunnyOrDie.com receives every known accolade recognizing this effort in the noble cause of stopping people from doing stupid s***.

Lady Gaga moves an obscene amount of units and drives support for all kinds of movements (i.e. tsunami relief) with her 12.1 million Twitter fans. But what about the newest big boy in the social media realm - Google Plus? We take a look at 10 of the biggest celebrity players in the social media world, and how they are using Google Plus.

Brett Easton Ellis Teams Up With 'Taxi Driver' Writer for a 'Summer Youth Thriller' About Sharks
August 03, 2011 @ 8:50 am PST    American Psycho, Less Than Zero, Taxi Driver     Richard Sharp
Brett Easton Ellis - he who disturbed us with the insanely cold-blooded-yet-somehow-still-comedic masterwork "American Psycho," and defined the hollow empty core of the eighties with "Less Than Zero" - is reportedly working on a new film with legendary writer/director Paul Schrader, who penned the scripts for "Taxi Driver" and "Raging Bull." Apparently it's a nice, light summer romp about rich teens getting eaten by sharks. Count us in.

August 03, 2011 @ 8:00 am PST    House, Conan , Knocked Up     Morgan Glennon
Charlyne Yi might be comfortable dealing with "Paper Hearts" but now she might find herself operating on real ones. Or at least her character might, as the comedian has been tapped to join Fox's medical drama "House" as a new series regular.

'Scarface' To Make One-Night-Only Return To Theaters
August 03, 2011 @ 7:00 am PST    Mister Scarface     Sean Comer
Get ready to say ""Welcome back" to the bad guy. It's incredibly rare that an updated remake ever eclipses the original it emulates, but once upon a time almost 30 years ago in 1982, Brian De Palma's update of the 1932 Howard Hawks-directed gangster classic "Scarface" did just that. To mark the occasion, a whole new generation can spend one night only getting acquainted with Al Pacino's iconic Tony Montana on the big screen.
