In legendary professional wrestling announcer Jim Ross' words, business has picked up. "American Idol" took a double-digit ratings dip this week, marking the first time this season that NBC's "The Voice" has outpaced it on its respective Monday-night outing. CBS came in a distant second with the second week of the new "Survivor" season. And on NBC, "Rock Center" actually posted a worse rating than a CW show.

Doesn't this usually happen the other way around? Apparently, Paramount Pictures feels that the estate of late The Godfather author Mario Puzo overstepped its bounds and authorized the penning of too many sequels. As it now stands according to Entertainment Weekly, the studio that distributed all the "The Godfather" films by director Francis Ford Coppola is now suing Anthony Puzo and his father's estate to block May's release by Grand Central Publishing of the prequel The Family Corleone.

Actor-comedian Sacha Baron Cohen claims he'll attend this coming weekend's 84th Annual Academy Awards dressed and in-character as the titular Middle Eastern tyrant of his upcoming comedy "The Dictator," sources have told The Hollywood Reporter. Depending on the account to be believed, the Academy and Paramount Pictures either don't know what's going on or aren't crazy about the idea.

The latest contender/pretender taking aim at streaming-video giant Netflix? Comcast. Fox News reports today that the Philadelphia-based telecommunications operator has unveiled Xfinity Streampix, a streaming video service launching Thursday that offers a library of movies and TV shows on-demand bundled with some existing Comcast video subscribers' packages, and available to others for $4.

If this proves true, then "The Biggest Loser" producers deserve feeling shameful for playing games with people trying to change their lives for the better. CBS News reports today by way of TMZ that that long-running NBC weight-loss reality show's Season 13 contestants may quit the show before season's end after walking completely off the competition.
NBC hasn't yet addressed this rumor, but producers allegedly planned luring back past competitors to compete against remaining contestants for this season's $250,000 cash prize.
