Future Movie News: Somali Pirate Movie Will Star Tom Hanks as Captain Richard Phillips

Remember back in 2009, when Somali pirates hijacked an American vessel and some Navy SEALs totally took them out?

The producing team behind "The Social Network" does, and they're working on bring an adaptation of Captain Richard Phillips' memoir A Captain's Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea to theaters.

Tom Hanks has been tapped to play Captain Phillips in the movie, which will detail the events from the capture of the ship all the way up to the rescue of the crew.

Gilbert Gottfried might not know when to stop cracking jokes, but at least he knows when to apologize. The comedian and frequent "Comedy Central Roast" participant was fired�by Aflac yesterday when he cracked a series of uncalled-for jokes on Twitter about the tsunami in Japan. Aflac had been using Gottfried's unique voice for their duck mascot in their TV commercials, but upon seeing his tweets, they decided it was time for him to go.

Kelly Ripa reports that she will be keeping hers small and “hanging low” thanks to a story of snakes and silicon.

According to Ripa, the story of a snake biting an Israeli model’s breasts is so disturbing that she finds it sufficient reason not to enhance her own chest.

The snake died from silicon poisoning after biting model Orit Fox during a photo shoot for a Tel Aviv radio station.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet your new Bachelorette! Ashley Hebert, who placed third on this season of "The Bachelor" (which just wrapped up last night with Brad Womack choosing his lucky lady) will be starring in the new season as she looks for love.

Why is ABC going with the third runner-up? Well, an inside source reports that second-place finisher Chantal was offered the spot, but turned it down as she already has a new boyfriend.

We already know that Sir Elton John has expressed interest in appearing on "Glee," but in what capacity? It seems clear that the musician is aiming for more than a Britney Spears-type cameo, as he met with the show's creator Ryan Murphy and star Jane Lynch and pitched some ideas for storylines...including one pretty questionable one.

In an interview on "The Jay Leno Show," Lynch reported Sir Elton's idea: according to Lynch, John told her, "What I'd like to do is perhaps be your lover, but I end up in bed with Chris.

'Glee' Spoilers: Will New Directions Make It Past Regionals?

In an interview with TV Guide, "Glee" star Cory Monteith may have revealed whether or not McKinley's New Directions will make it past regionals.

In the interview, Monteith started by talking a bit about song choices for the upcoming episodes.

Anderson Cooper Abandons Live Broadcast in Japan for Safety

CNN's Anderson Cooper continues to take live reporting (and exiting) to new levels.

While in Fukushima to report on impending fallout, safety concerns forced Cooper to evacuate and abandon his live broadcast from Japan on Monday.

A series of nearby explosions at a nuclear plant caused Cooper and crew to pack up, travel away from the danger, and yes – take to Twitter.

DJ Pauly D must be lucky – and it looks like his new dream job is taking him to the right place.

According to Life & Style, “Jersey Shore” star Pauly D just scored the gig as the exclusive resident DJ at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

“This is huge for me. It’s what I’ve always wanted, and I can’t wait to start,” he said.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have worked as a big-screen comedy duo for a number of movies now, including "Shaun of the Dead," "Hot Fuzz," and the upcoming alien comedy "Paul." Pegg is also quite the nerd, as a professed comic book fan...and Star Wars enthusiast, apparently.

Here's the story: Pegg and Frost took some time off of their "Paul" schedule to do a shot-for-shot remake of "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" but only completed one scene.
