In "W.I.T.C.H." season 1 episode 14, titled "Parent's Night," the five guardians of the Veil - Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin - attend a special school event with their parents. But things quickly take a turn when the parents become hypnotized by a sorcerer named Cedric and turned against their own children. The W.I.T.C.H. girls must find a way to break the spell and save their families while also protecting the Veil from harm.

The episode begins with the girls getting ready for Parent's Night at Heatherfield High School. Hay Lin is excited to show her mother, Yan Lin, her drawings in the art room, while Irma hopes to impress her fashion-conscious mother with her trendy outfit. Cornelia is less enthusiastic, feeling that her demanding mother, Elizabeth, will be critical of her grades and performance. Taranee is nervous because her father, Lionel, rarely attends school events due to his job as a fireman.

The girls have mixed feelings about their families seeing their "other" lives as guardians of the Veil. Will worries that her mother, Susan, won't understand why she's always disappearing and lying about her whereabouts. Irma fears that her mother will think she's crazy for believing in magic. Hay Lin hopes her mother won't be disappointed that she hasn't learned the ancient arts of the Guardians yet. Cornelia dreads the thought of her mother interfering with her social life and potentially embarrassing her in front of her friends.

As the event begins, the girls and their families mingle with the other parents and teachers. Things seem to be going well until Cedric, a mysterious man in a suit, shows up and starts performing magic tricks for the crowd. Will recognizes him as a sorcerer and alerts her friends. They follow him to the library, where he has set up a portal to the Shadow Realm. His plan is to use the parents as a distraction while he tries to breach the Veil and gain access to the magical energy there.

The girls try to stop Cedric, but he traps them in the library and casts a spell on their parents, making them his obedient servants. The girls are shocked and heartbroken to see their families turn against them, but they don't give up. They use their Guardian powers to break free of the library and pursue Cedric. They split up into pairs, with Will and Hay Lin taking on Cedric while the others try to free their families from his control.

The battle is intense, with Cedric using mind control, illusions, and dark magic to defeat the guardians. Will and Hay Lin struggle to keep up with him, but they're determined to protect the Veil and their families. Meanwhile, Irma, Cornelia, and Taranee search for a way to break the spell without hurting their parents. They discover that the only way to do so is to make them remember their love for their children and snap out of the trance.

With time running out, the girls utilize their strengths and teamwork to overcome Cedric and free their families. They finally succeed by using the power of love and family to break the spell and restore everyone's memories. The episode ends with the girls and their parents embracing each other, grateful to be reunited and safe.
