W.I.T.C.H. is an animated television series that aired from 2004-2006. The show is based on the Italian comic book series of the same name and follows five teenage girls who are given the power to become the guardians of the Veil, a magical barrier that separates the human world from the magical world of Meridian.

The main character of the show is Will, a new student at a school in Heatherfield. Will is reluctant to make friends and is skeptical of the supernatural until she discovers her powers and meets the other guardians: Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin.

Irma is the jokester of the group and has the power to control water. Taranee is a shy girl with the power to control fire, while Cornelia is a popular girl with the ability to control earth. Hay Lin is a bubbly girl who can control air, and her family runs a Chinese restaurant which serves as the group's hangout spot.

The girls are assisted by Caleb, a rebel from Meridian who serves as their guide and mentor as they learn to use their powers and protect the Veil. The girls also have to balance their research into their powers and the supernatural with their daily lives, such as school, family, and boy troubles.
