Ep 29. Refusing to pay an ex

  • October 10, 2019

In this episode of The People's Court, a woman named Sarah takes her ex-boyfriend to court for refusing to pay her back money he borrowed during their relationship. Sarah claims that she loaned her ex-boyfriend over $5,000 for various expenses including rent, bills, and groceries. However, now that they have broken up, he is refusing to pay her back.

The defendant, named Jack, argues that the money was not a loan but rather gifts from Sarah to him. He claims that Sarah would frequently give him money as a way of showing her love and affection. He insists that he does not owe her anything and that she is simply trying to use the court system to manipulate him.

During the course of the trial, several witnesses are called to testify. Sarah's friends and family members testify that they witnessed her lending money to Jack and that she expected him to pay her back. They also argue that the gifts Jack claims to have received were never presented as gifts at the time.

On the other hand, Jack's witnesses testify that they saw Sarah giving him money on several occasions and that it was always presented as a gift. They argue that Sarah has a history of being generous with her money and that Jack never agreed to repay any of it.

Throughout the trial, Judge Marilyn Milian listens carefully to all of the testimony and evidence presented. She ultimately must determine whether the money was a loan or a gift. She questions both Sarah and Jack about their intentions when the money was exchanged and tries to determine whether there was a clear agreement between them.

In the end, Judge Milian comes to a decision and rules in favor of one of the parties. However, to learn the outcome, viewers will have to tune in and watch the episode for themselves.
