Ep 17. Being sloppy

  • September 24, 2019

In this episode of The People's Court, the case revolves around a dispute between two roommates, Samantha and Emily. Samantha is taking Emily to court over the damages she caused in their apartment, due to her being extremely sloppy and careless with her belongings.

Samantha states that Emily constantly leaves her belongings scattered throughout their home, causing tripping hazards and damaging furniture, appliances, and flooring. Samantha also provides pictures and videos as evidence of the damages caused by Emily's negligence.

Emily, on the other hand, argues that Samantha is exaggerating the damages and that they are not her fault. She claims that Samantha is being unreasonable and that she is constantly nagging at her for every little thing.

Judge Milian listens to both sides of the argument and reviews the evidence presented. She questions Emily about her habits and reminds her that as a responsible adult, she must take care of her belongings and respect her roommate's space and property.

During the deliberation, the judge considers the fact that Samantha waited too long to bring the issue to court, but ultimately rules in favor of Samantha, awarding her damages for the repair costs and cleaning expenses.

In another case, the plaintiff sues the defendant for the damages caused to her car during a parking lot incident. The defendant claims that the plaintiff was driving recklessly and caused the accident, therefore, refusing to pay for the damages caused.

The judge reviews the footage of the parking lot incident, and after careful consideration of the evidence, finds that the defendant was indeed at fault for the collision and orders her to pay for the plaintiff's damages.

Finally, the last case involves a disagreement between two neighbors over a property line dispute. The plaintiff claims that the defendant has trespassed onto her property and damaged her fence. The defendant, on the other hand, argues that the property line is different than what the plaintiff claims and that she had every right to be there.

Judge Milian reviews the property deeds and survey maps, and after careful consideration, determines that the plaintiff is correct and that the property line is where she claims it to be. The judge orders the defendant to pay for the damages caused and to stay off the plaintiff's property.

Overall, this episode of The People's Court showcases a variety of legal disputes and how Judge Milian carefully considers the evidence and delivers a fair judgment. It also highlights the importance of being responsible and respectful towards one's belongings and property.
