Supergirl season 4 episode 6, titled "Call to Action," follows the aftermath of James Olsen's revelation that he is the vigilante Guardian and his subsequent arrest. The city is divided on whether or not Guardian is a hero or a vigilante, with some rallying in support of him and others calling for him to be prosecuted for his actions.
Meanwhile, Ben Lockwood continues to gain power and influence through his anti-alien rhetoric and his organization, the Children of Liberty. Lockwood enlists the help of Manchester Black, an alien-hater with powerful telekinetic abilities, to take down the pro-alien protests and spread fear in the city.
As tensions rise, Supergirl, J'onn, and Brainy work to protect the peaceful protests and stop Lockwood's plan. But they soon realize they may not be enough to stop the growing hate and division in the city.
The episode also focuses on the relationships between the characters, with Alex struggling to come to terms with her feelings for Kelly and Lena continuing to keep secrets from the people closest to her. Overall, "Call to Action" delivers a powerful message about the dangers of hate and the importance of unity in the face of adversity.
