Sydney Fox, a renowned professor and relic hunter, is on a new adventure in Relic Hunter season 2 episode 12 called M.I.A. Sydney is accompanied by her assistant Nigel Bailey as they travel across the globe in search of rare and valuable artifacts.
The episode begins with Sydney meeting with an old friend, Carly, who is also an accomplished relic hunter. Carly informs Sydney that her brother, Jack, has gone missing in the jungles of Peru while on a quest to find the lost tomb of Incan ruler, Pachacuti. Sydney agrees to help Carly find her brother and sets out on a mission to find him.
Sydney and Nigel travel to Peru and start their search by meeting with some of Jack's colleagues. They learn that Jack had discovered a clue that would lead him to the tomb, but he never returned from his trip to investigate it. The clue is a map with a series of cryptic symbols on it, which Sydney and Nigel must decipher in order to find Jack.
They follow the map into the dense jungle and encounter several obstacles along the way, including a river filled with dangerous creatures and a group of rebels who are seeking to overthrow the Peruvian government. Sydney and Nigel fight their way through these challenges and eventually arrive at a hidden cave where they believe Jack may be trapped.
Inside the cave, Sydney and Nigel find Jack, who is injured and barely conscious. They help him out of the cave and back to civilization, where he is taken to a hospital for treatment. Once Jack is stable, Sydney asks him about the tomb of Pachacuti. Jack reveals that he had discovered the location of the tomb and had planned to excavate it, but he was ambushed by the rebels and taken captive.
Sydney and Nigel decide to finish what Jack started and head back into the jungle to find the tomb. They follow a trail of clues and eventually arrive at a massive temple that has been hidden for centuries. Inside, they find the tomb of Pachacuti and a treasure trove of artifacts.
As Sydney and Nigel explore the tomb, they discover that it was designed to keep intruders out. They face a number of traps and obstacles as they search for the most valuable relic in the tomb - a golden statue of Pachacuti himself. After much effort, they manage to retrieve the statue and make their way out of the temple.
Back in the hospital, Sydney and Nigel reunite with Carly and Jack. They explain that they have found the lost tomb of Pachacuti and recovered the golden statue. Carly is overjoyed to hear that her brother is safe, and she thanks Sydney and Nigel for their help.
The episode ends with Sydney and Nigel departing from Peru and returning to their work as relic hunters. They may have lost some time in their hunt for the treasure, but their courage in the face of danger helped them recover one of the greatest relics lost to history.
