Relic Hunter is an action-adventure television series that premiered in 1999 and aired until 2002, consisting of three seasons and a total of 66 episodes. It was produced as a joint production between Canada and France and was created by Jay Firestone and Gil Grant.

The show starred Tia Carrere as Sydney Fox, a professor of ancient civilization turned adventurer and treasure hunter. Along with her partner in crime, Nigel Bailey (played by Christien Anholt), Sydney traveled around the world searching for lost artifacts and uncovering the mysteries that surrounded them.

Throughout the series, the pair encountered various challenges and obstacles as they pursued their passion for relics. They faced off against dangerous villains who also coveted the artifacts they sought, and sometimes had to deal with rival relic hunters vying for the same prize.

Sydney, in particular, was a compelling lead character. Carrere portrayed her as a brave and resourceful woman who wasn't afraid to take risks and fight for what she believed in. She was also incredibly knowledgeable about ancient history and cultures, an interest that was initially sparked by her father's own work as an archaeologist.

Meanwhile, Nigel Bailey served as Sydney's loyal, if sometimes bumbling or skeptical, sidekick. He was a jack-of-all-trades, assisting Sydney with everything from research to fighting off bad guys.

The series was notable for its high-octane action sequences, which often involved elaborate chase scenes, fights, and explosions. However, it was also able to balance its thrilling moments with an overarching sense of fun and adventure.

One of the show's strengths was its exploration of a variety of different cultures and historical periods. Each episode revolved around a new artifact or location, allowing viewers to learn about everything from ancient Inca civilizations to the Wild West.

Furthermore, the show often incorporated real historical figures and events into its storylines. For instance, one episode centered around the search for the lost treasure of pirate William Kidd, while another involved the investigation of a Nazi conspiracy in Brazil.

The supporting characters of Relic Hunter were also memorable, including Lindy Booth as Claudia, Sydney's young and energetic protégé, and Tanja Reichert as Karen Petrusky, a fellow relic hunter who was sometimes an ally and sometimes a rival.

Overall, Relic Hunter was a fun and exciting adventure series that blended action, mystery, and historical exploration. While the show only lasted three seasons, its loyal fanbase and enduring popularity speak to its lasting impact in the world of television.

Relic Hunter is a series that ran for 3 seasons (66 episodes) between September 25, 1999 and on Syndicated
