Additionally, they learn that by saving individuals trapped in the TV World, they can prevent them from becoming victims of a serial killer who has been targeting young women in the real world.

However, the group soon learns that the true competition lies in their battle against the serial killer and their attempts to unravel the mysteries of the Midnight Channel and the TV World.
