When Lee's (Lee Mack) father passes away, he is left with the task of clearing out his dad's old garage, which unleashes some sentimental memories. Meanwhile, Lucy (Sally Bretton) indulges in a touch of retail therapy by buying Lee a guitar, hoping to encourage his musical talents. However, her good intentions cause more harm than good when Lee ends up joining Tim's (Tim Vine) new band, and sets his sights on becoming the frontman. Not only does this lead to awkward rehearsals, but also a conflict between Lee and Tim which escalates when they are both determined to play the lead role in a production of Oliver! Also, Lucy finds she has a surprising connection to the play, as the plot begins to mirror her own life. As the group prepares for their performance, they learn some unexpected lessons about life, relationships, and the art of performing.
