Lee and Lucy are attending a business conference for work, and are staying in a posh hotel. On their way to the conference, they are stuck in traffic and end up singing songs from musicals together to pass the time. While at the conference, Lee struggles to connect with his colleagues and ends up accidentally insulting them during a speech. Meanwhile, Lucy gets drunk and flirts with a man at the bar, which leads to a misunderstanding with Lee.
As the conference continues, Lee tries to make amends with his colleagues, but just seems to make things worse. Lucy, meanwhile, tries to avoid the man she was flirting with and ends up getting lost in the hotel. The episode culminates in a chaotic scene at the hotel bar, where Lee and Lucy finally confront their issues with each other and their colleagues. In the end, they are able to resolve their conflicts and return home.
The episode is a classic example of the show's unique brand of humor, which combines sharp wit with slapstick comedy. The chemistry between the two leads, played by Lee Mack and Sally Bretton, is as strong as ever, and the supporting cast of characters adds to the hilarity. With its clever writing and expert comedic timing, "Conference" is an episode that's not to be missed.
