MacGyver (2016) Season 1 Episode 17 - "Ruler"

MacGyver and his team are sent in to retrieve a dictatorial leader's missing son, who is being held for ransom by rebels. However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when the team discovers that the son may not have been kidnapped at all, but may have actually joined the rebel cause voluntarily to overthrow his father and become the new ruler.

As the team navigates through treacherous terrain and dangerous rebel strongholds, they must also grapple with their own personal beliefs about loyalty, family, and what it means to do the right thing. MacGyver finds himself in a particularly difficult position as he tries to balance his duty to his team with his own moral code.

Along the way, the team encounters a variety of obstacles, including booby-trapped buildings, armed guards, and rebel soldiers with their own agendas. MacGyver relies on his ingenuity and resourcefulness to outsmart the various challenges and keep his team safe.

Meanwhile, back at home base, Jack has his own drama to deal with as he tries to juggle his own personal life with his duties as a member of the team. When an unexpected visitor shows up on his doorstep, Jack is forced to confront his past and make some tough decisions about his future.

In the end, MacGyver and his team are faced with a choice: do they retrieve the son and bring him back to his father, or do they help him overthrow his father and become the new ruler of the country? As the clock ticks down and tensions rise, MacGyver must use all of his skills and knowledge to make the right decision and save lives.
