Of All the Gin Joints is the sixth episode of the fourth season of the Canadian supernatural drama series Lost Girl. The episode was written by Emily Andras and directed by Ron Murphy. The episode sees the return of a character named Vex (played by Paul Amos), a mesmerizing and wicked Dark Fae trickster. He returns with a new partner named Mark (played by Luke Bilyk), who is also a Dark Fae.
The episode starts with Dyson (played by Kris Holden-Ried) bringing a case to Bo (played by Anna Silk) and Kenzi (played by Ksenia Solo) concerning a human waitress who has been abducted by someone with supernatural powers. The waitress worked at an upscale bar, The Mayflower, which is frequented by the wealthy, supernatural elite. Bo and Kenzie decide to go undercover to investigate the bar. They pretend to be socialites looking for a great party but soon discover that the bar is more than it appears to be.
Meanwhile, Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) is still dealing with the aftermath of her relationship with The Ash (played by Clé Bennett). She returns to the Light Fae to try and figure out the truth behind The Ash's actions. While there, she discovers Vex and Mark have been assigned to protect The Morrigan (played by Emmanuelle Vaugier), the leader of the Dark Fae. Lauren decides to use this opportunity to research their powers and try and find a way to protect herself from The Ash's wrath.
Bo and Kenzi's investigation leads them to discover that The Mayflower's owner, Hades, has been holding the abducted waitress as a bargaining chip. Hades wants The Morrigan to sign a contract that would give him access to her powers, but she refuses to sign. Bo and Kenzi hatch a plan to rescue the waitress and stop Hades from using her as leverage. With help from The Morrigan, they discover Hades has a powerful weapon, which he intends to use to control the supernatural world.
Vex also becomes involved in the central case when he discovers Dyson is investigating the same case. Vex is not happy to see Dyson and tries to persuade him to stop investigating the human waitress case. Dyson and Vex have a tense conversation that reveals that Vex is hiding something important.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers wondering what Vex is hiding and what consequences his actions will have on the supernatural world. The sixth episode of Lost Girl Season 4 is a thrilling and action-packed episode, full of twists and turns that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The introduction of new characters and the return of Vex brings a fresh perspective to the series, while the central case adds a sense of urgency that drives the plot forward.
