Lost Girl is a supernatural drama series that first aired in 2010 on the Syfy Channel. The show follows the life of Bo, played by Anna Silk, a succubus who is discovering her true identity in a world where mythical creatures are real and living among us. Accompanied by her friends Kenzi, played by Ksenia Solo, and Dyson, played by Kris Holden-Ried, Bo navigates a dangerous path as she tries to uncover the truth about her past and embrace her powers to make sense of her newfound identity.

Bo, along with several other supernatural beings, lives in a world called the Fae, a realm parallel to the human world. The Fae is a society of both Dark and Light Fae who are constantly at odds with one another. Bo, born of a union between a human and a succubus, is deemed an unknown and consequently has no allegiances to either side of the Fae. Her powers are formidable, making her a sought after asset by many different factions in the Fae world. This creates issues for Bo as she is forced to make allies and enemies with not only Light and Dark Fae, but also human investigators who are trying to uncover the Fae's existence.

Throughout the series, Bo grapples with her sense of belonging and identity as she tries to understand the scope of her powers. Her best friend Kenzi, a scrappy human street rat, helps to ground Bo as their relationship becomes the heart of the show. Dyson, a Light Fae detective, also strikes up a friendship and later, a romantic relationship with Bo, despite his orders to keep her in check. Dyson is an integral part of the show as he provides insight into the intricate workings of the Fae world, serving as Bo's guide to navigating the politics of the Fae.

Other important characters include the bubbly and naive Trick, played by Rick Howland, a bartender who is actually one of the most powerful Fae in the world. Lauren, played by Zoie Palmer, is a human doctor who becomes entangled with the Fae after a chance encounter with Bo. Her character serves as a foil to Bo, as she is initially skeptical of the Fae world and their motives, leading her to ally with the humans trying to catch them.

The show has been praised for its clever writing, unique mythology, and strong characters. One of the most interesting aspects of the show is the way it explores themes of sexuality and identity. Bo's sexuality is a crucial element of her character as a succubus, but the show also delves into the sexuality of other Fae characters, depicting a world where a person's gender and sexual preference are fluid and diverse. This aspect of the show has led to a strong, dedicated fanbase who connect with the characters on a personal level.

Lost Girl ran for five seasons, concluding in 2016. Fans were sad to see the show end, but the series finale provided a satisfactory conclusion to the overarching storylines while leaving room for more stories to be told in the Fae universe.

Overall, Lost Girl is a captivating and addictive show that offers a fresh take on the supernatural genre. The show's unique take on sexuality and identity, as well as its compelling characters and intricate mythology, make it a must-watch for fans of the genre.

Lost Girl is a series that is currently running and has 6 seasons (86 episodes). The series first aired on January 16, 2012.
