As a disclaimer, Lost Girl is a television show aimed at a mature audience. As such, the following description may contain adult-oriented language and themes.
Lost Girl season 2 episode 1, titled "Something Wicked This Fae Comes," picks up where the show's first season left off. Bo, the show's protagonist, is still reeling from the revelation that she's not human, but rather a succubus - a supernatural creature who feeds off the sexual energy of others to survive.
The episode begins with Bo waking up in bed - not with a person, but with a bottle of alcohol. She's clearly been on a bender, and as she stumbles out of bed, it's clear she's not in a great mental state. Her roommates, the human Kenzi and the Fae (supernatural creature) Dyson, try to rouse her but don't have much luck.
Bo's self-destructive behavior is interrupted by a call from the Ash, one of the major Fae leaders. He and his people are under attack by a new kind of Fae - something that's never been seen before. It seems this new enemy is able to take on the powers and abilities of other Fae, making them a formidable threat.
Despite her precarious emotional state, Bo agrees to help the Ash and his people. Along with Kenzi, Dyson, and another Fae ally, Trick, Bo sets out to investigate the mysterious new foe. They soon learn that the leader of this new group is a powerful and charismatic Fae named The Garuda, who seems to have the ability to control people's minds.
As Bo and her friends try to unravel the mystery of The Garuda, they face several challenges and setbacks. Mirroring Bo's own struggles, Dyson is also dealing with a personal crisis - he's lost his supernatural abilities, leaving him feeling vulnerable and useless. Meanwhile, Kenzi is grappling with her own feelings of inadequacy and tries to prove herself to the Fae community by taking on a dangerous task.
Despite these obstacles, the team continues to pursue The Garuda and eventually discover a way to defeat him. However, the victory comes at a steep cost, leaving Bo and her friends shaken and uncertain about what lies ahead.
Overall, "Something Wicked This Fae Comes" is a strong season opener, setting the stage for the show's second season with plenty of action, intrigue, and character development. The episode's focus on Bo's struggles with her identity and place in the world is relatable and adds an emotional depth to the story. The introduction of The Garuda as a major antagonist sets the stage for a season-long conflict that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
