This Bridge, Not Weasel's Bridge is an episode from the first season of the animated television series I am Weasel. It opens with a shot of a bridge and a voiceover that informs viewers the bridge has been standing for over 100 years and has never once needed repairs. We then see Weasel and his friend Baboon walking across the bridge. They discuss how lovely the bridge is and how it's become a symbol of the town.
Suddenly, a group of construction workers arrive and begin setting up equipment. Weasel and Baboon ask what they're doing, and the workers inform them that the bridge is going to be rebuilt. The two friends are shocked and dismayed that such a historic structure would be torn down.
Weasel decides that he's going to take matters into his own hands and save the bridge. He spends the next few days tirelessly trying to convince the townspeople not to rebuild the bridge. He gives speeches, hands out flyers, and even stages a sit-in on the bridge, but nothing seems to work.
As a last resort, Weasel seeks the help of the governor, who happens to be a close personal friend of his. The governor agrees to come to the town and talk to the people about preserving the bridge.
When the governor arrives, Weasel is confident that his efforts will pay off. However, he soon discovers that the governor is actually in favor of rebuilding the bridge. It turns out that the governor's cousin owns a construction company and stands to make a lot of money from the project.
Weasel refuses to give up, though. He comes up with a plan to save the bridge and expose the governor's corruption. He enlists the help of Baboon, along with several other animals from the zoo, to form a human chain across the bridge. They refuse to move, even when the construction workers begin using heavy machinery to try and break through.
The standoff continues for hours, with Weasel and his allies holding firm against the forces trying to tear down the bridge. Finally, the governor shows up in person and tells Weasel that he's won. The governor admits that he was wrong and that the bridge needs to be preserved.
In the end, the people of the town come together to repair the bridge instead of tearing it down. Weasel and his friends stand on the new bridge, marveling at how the old structure has been saved for future generations to enjoy. The episode ends with a shot of the restored bridge, with a new sign that reads "This Bridge, Not Weasel's Bridge".
