The show Hustle, season 6 episode 4, titled "The Father of Jewels", revolves around the team's attempt to con a corrupt businessman named Piers Garfield-Ward. He is the mastermind behind a jewelry heist that resulted in the loss of millions of pounds. The team comes up with a plan to make him believe that one of their team members, Mickey Stone, is the son of Albert Stroller, a legendary and deceased con artist.
To kick off their con, the team convinces Garfield-Ward to buy Albert Stroller's old safe. They make him believe that it contains a valuable piece of jewelry that was stolen from him during the heist. However, the safe is empty, but it serves a purpose as they plant evidence in it to convince Garfield-Ward that Stroller was involved in another, much bigger heist, before his death.
Meanwhile, Mickey poses as Albert's son and proves his legitimacy by revealing that he has a safe-deposit box under his father's name. He tells Garfield-Ward that he has access to Stroller's notes, blueprints, and everything he needs to recreate the heist on a much larger scale. This information intrigues the corrupt businessman who is already suffering from the loss of his own heist.
The con eventually leads them to a high-security gem vault where Garfield-Ward takes the bait and attempts to execute the heist by tricking his own security guard. However, the team has pulled the wool over Garfield-Ward's eyes the whole time and as he is about to make his escape, he is caught by the team and handed over to the authorities.
In brief, this episode reveals the intricate web of lies and deceit spun by the team to orchestrate Piers Garfield-Ward's downfall. They prey on his vulnerabilities and greed, using his desire for money and revenge to bait him into their trap. With Mickey's colorful portrayal of the late Albert Stroller's son, the plot is thickened, and the audience is treated to an entertaining heist full of suspense and surprise twists at the end.
