In the opening episode of season 3 of Hustle, titled "Price For Fame," the team is back with even more clever schemes and cons to pull off. This time around, they set their sights on a renowned record producer named Freddie Davies who has made a fortune producing hit records over the years. The team believes that he may have some hidden cash reserves that they can swindle him out of.
The episode opens with Freddie arriving at his lavish mansion, where he is greeted by his personal assistant. The team has been following him for weeks, trying to get a sense of his routine and habits to plan their con. They start off by impersonating a group of reporters who want to interview him about his successful career. While posing as reporters, they try to get as much information out of Freddie as they can about his financial situation.
As they delve deeper into Freddie's finances, they learn that he has a secret safe where he stashes his hidden money. The team comes up with a plan to steal his safe, but they realize that they need a distraction to pull it off. They decide to enlist the help of Danny's old friend, Mickey Stone, who is a mastermind of distraction tactics.
Mickey joins the team and suggests that they create a fake pop star to get Freddie's attention. They hire a young and talented singer, Tabatha Rivers, to pose as the pop star. The team coaches her on her backstory and convinces her to play along with the con. They decide to use her as bait to lure Freddie into their trap.
As part of the plan, the team sets up a fake record company called Empire Records and convinces Freddie that they want to sign Tabatha to a lucrative deal. Freddie agrees to meet with Tabatha and her producers to discuss the contract.
At the meeting, they present a flashy presentation about her "meteoric rise" and why signing her would be the best thing for his record label. While Freddie is distracted, the team sneaks into his mansion and steals his safe. Hilarity ensues as the team struggles to get the safe out of Freddie's house, but they eventually manage to make it out without raising any suspicions.
Just when it seems like they have successfully pulled off their con, things take a turn. Freddie discovers that his safe has been stolen and calls the police. The team scrambles to cover their tracks and comes up with a last-minute plan to put the blame on a rival of Freddie's.
In the end, the team manages to successfully pull off their con and walk away with a huge sum of money. They celebrate with a lavish dinner and raise a toast to their success. However, as always, their victory is short-lived. The episode ends with a cliffhanger as Mickey receives an unexpected call from an old acquaintance who claims to have a job for him that he can't refuse.
Overall, the episode is a thrilling ride and sets the tone for the rest of the season. The team's chemistry is electric, and their cons are more creative than ever. The episode also highlights the importance of teamwork and shows how every member of the team brings their unique skills to the table.
