Himote House season 1 episode 1, titled "I'll Give You Romance," follows the daily lives of five young women living together in a mysterious house. The first episode introduces the main characters, starting with Tokiyo Himote, a college student who loves to eat and often makes witty remarks. She is followed by Tae Hongou, a shy girl who is always wearing a mask and is a talented artist. Kokoro Himote is displayed as the "mysterious" one of the house, and she is also seen as a bit of a daydreamer. However, Kokoro tends to be quiet and reserved, and is often found reading manga. Meanwhile, twins Kinami and Nozomi Himote, the youngest in the house, are introduced with Kinami being the quieter and more reserved twin, while Nozomi is more outgoing and excitable.
The episode begins with the five women returning to the Himote House after a shopping trip. They are all exhausted and quickly fall asleep, but Kokoro is still up and is getting lost in a romantic manga she is reading. She is so entranced by the love story that she wishes she could experience romance in her own life. Suddenly, she is transported into the manga itself, and finds herself in a romantic scene with the manga's protagonist.
Meanwhile, Kinami and Nozomi are trying to convince Tae to take off her mask and show her face. Tae is resistant at first, but the twins' persistent efforts eventually lead her to reveal her face, which is revealed to be stunningly beautiful. The twins are thrilled and immediately take pictures to share with their friends.
The day progresses, with the girls engaging in various activities and conversations while still trying to solve the mystery of the Himote House. As evening approaches, they all gather around the TV to watch a romantic drama. While watching the show, Kokoro is still daydreaming about finding her own romance, and begins to feel sad that she doesn't have a boyfriend. The other girls try to cheer her up, and Tae suggests that they create a "boyfriend simulator" by all pretending to be different aspects of the perfect boyfriend.
The simulation begins, with each of the girls playing a different role in creating the perfect date scenario. However, things don't go exactly as planned, and the girls quickly begin to argue and disagree on how their "boyfriend" should behave. In the end, they all come to the conclusion that there is no one perfect way to be a boyfriend, and that what matters more is that someone cares for you and makes you happy.
The episode ends with Kokoro still feeling a bit down about her recent romantic daydreams, but the other girls reassure her that love will come to her when the time is right. They all go to bed, with the mystery of the Himote House still unsolved but their bond as housemates growing stronger by the day.
Overall, the first episode of Himote House sets up the premise of the show and introduces the main characters in a lighthearted and comedic way. While there is a certain level of mystery surrounding the girls' living situation, the focus is mainly on their daily lives and interactions with each other. With its charming characters and heartwarming messages about friendship and romance, Himote House is sure to be a hit with fans of slice-of-life anime.
