The episode "Beaks and Cheeks" from season 1 of Head of the Class follows the students of the advanced placement class as they prepare for their final exams. While studying hard for their tests, the students get a surprise visit from a group of local students who have come to challenge the "geniuses" and prove that they can outsmart them.

Led by a rival student named Beaks (played by Mark Blankfield), the visitors are brash, arrogant, and full of themselves. They go around the class trying to pick fights and prove their superiority over the Head of the Class students. Initially, the students of the advanced placement class are annoyed by the visitors, but soon, they realize that Beaks and his group are not just there to cause trouble. They have come with a mission to learn as much as they can from the smartest students in town.

In an effort to prove that they are smarter than the Head of the Class students, Beaks and his group challenge them to a debate on the topic of the American Revolution. The AP students accept the challenge, but soon find themselves in trouble when they realize that Beaks and his group are much more skilled than they expected. The debate becomes heated, and tensions flare as both groups fight to prove their point.

Meanwhile, the school's new principal, Dr. Samuels (played by William G. Schilling), struggles to fit in with the students. He feels like an outsider and cannot seem to connect with the students on a personal level. However, when he sees the students working together to prepare for their final exams, he is impressed by their intelligence and hard work. He decides to make a special appearance at the debate and offers the students some words of encouragement.

In the end, the Head of the Class students are able to prove that they are the smarter group, but they also realize that they have a lot to learn from Beaks and his group. Through their interaction, the two groups are able to learn from each other, and the episode ends with a sense of unity and cooperation among them.

"Beaks and Cheeks" is an entertaining and thought-provoking episode that highlights the importance of cooperation, teamwork, and mutual respect. It also showcases the brilliance of the Head of the Class students and their dedication to learning and excelling.
