Ep 6. Love & Basketball

Jennifer and Brody's relationship reaches another level altogether when they get into a basketball game. Brody's ego is bruised when he loses out to Jennifer in the game, but he manages to find a silver lining when he sees how happy Jennifer is. Meanwhile, Threepeat helps Mansfield's assistant with her taxes and discovers that she's been overpaying the government all these years. As he helps her fill out the correct forms and get the refund she deserves, Threepeat can't help but feel happy for her and proud of himself for doing a good deed. However, when he shows the final form to Mansfield, he realizes that he's been doing his taxes all wrong and will have to pay a lot more money this year. He is furious and blames Threepeat for this, leaving the latter feeling defeated and helpless.

Meanwhile, Harvard's life coach sends him on a mission to make a new friend and step out of his comfort zone. Harvard is initially hesitant, but when he sees Tori playing basketball with Jennifer and Brody, he decides to join in. Despite being terrible at the game, he manages to have fun and make a new friend in Tori. He even manages to impress her with his unorthodox moves and quirky sense of humor. However, things take a turn for the worse when he accidentally hits Tori with the ball, injuring her ankle. He is mortified and apologetic, but Tori reassures him that it's just a sprain and that she's fine. She even gives him her number and asks him to call her again sometime.

Back at the office, Mansfield confronts Threepeat about his mistake and threatens to fire him if he doesn't fix the situation. Threepeat panics and decides to seek advice from Derrick, who suggests that he trick Mansfield into thinking that he's found a loophole that could save him money. Threepeat is skeptical at first, but when he sees how well this plan works, he decides to go along with it. He tells Mansfield that he's found a legal way to reduce his tax liability and save him money, but that it involves transferring some assets to a trust fund. Mansfield is thrilled and gives him a bonus for his efforts.

However, as Threepeat leaves the office, he realizes that he has just committed fraud and could go to jail if he's caught. He feels guilty and ashamed, but he doesn't know what to do. He confides in Brody, who tells him that he needs to come clean and face the consequences of his actions. Threepeat is scared, but he knows that Brody is right. He goes back to Mansfield's office and admits that he made a mistake and that he lied to him about the trust fund. He apologizes and offers to pay back the bonus, but Mansfield is furious and fires him on the spot.

As Threepeat leaves the building, he feels like his life is over. He has lost his job, his reputation, and his sense of self-worth. He wonders what he's going to do next and how he's going to make ends meet. However, as he walks down the street, he sees Mansfield's former assistant, who thanks him for helping her with her taxes and gives him a business card. She tells him that she's starting her own accounting firm and that she needs someone like him to help her get started. Threepeat is surprised and grateful, but he knows that he can't accept her offer without telling her the truth about his past. He takes a deep breath and tells her everything, expecting her to walk away. However, to his surprise, she smiles and says that everyone makes mistakes, and that she's willing to give him a second chance.
