Ep 13. Native Son

Carter is attempting to come to terms with the recent revelation that she was kidnapped as a child and that her true identity is actually that of a girl named Lyndon Wilson. Carter is now struggling to reconcile her old identity as Carter Stevens with her new identity as Lyndon, while also dealing with the fallout of her recent interactions with her kidnapper, Lori. Meanwhile, her family and friends are caught in the middle of the chaos, trying to support Carter as best they can while also coping with their own emotions and reactions to her situation.

The episode opens with Carter meeting with her therapist to discuss her progress in dealing with her trauma and adjusting to her new identity. She explains that while she is making progress, she still feels like she is walking on eggshells around her family and friends, unsure how to act now that her true identity has been revealed.

As the episode progresses, we see Carter attempting to reconnect with her old life as Carter Stevens, but finding it difficult to let go of her past as Lyndon Wilson. She starts hanging out with her old friends and even goes to a party, but feels like she doesn't quite fit in anymore. She also starts dating a boy named Jared, but finds herself thinking about her ex-boyfriend Max and wondering if she made a mistake by breaking up with him.

Meanwhile, Carter's family is dealing with their own issues. Her mother Elizabeth is struggling to reconcile her love for Carter/Lyndon with the fact that she was kidnapped by Lori, while her father David is dealing with the fallout from his affair with Lori. Her brother Grant is also struggling with his own identity issues, unsure if he wants to follow in his father's footsteps and become a lawyer or pursue his dreams of becoming a musician.

As the episode comes to a close, Carter is forced to confront some hard truths about her past and her identity. She learns that her kidnapper Lori has escaped from prison and is on the run, and also realizes that she may never be able to fully leave her past behind and embrace her new identity as Lyndon. Despite this, she remains optimistic and determined to continue moving forward with her life, no matter how complicated or messy it may be.
