Ep 1. Everybody Hates the Guidance Counselor

Chris is back with another season, and he is now a junior in high school. In the first episode, he is having trouble picking the right classes for his future in college. Hoping to receive some guidance from the school counselor, he quickly finds out that the guidance counselor is as clueless as he is.

The first day of school for Chris and his friends is the perfect opportunity for them to catch up and discuss what they have been up to over the summer. With his newfound confidence, he heads back to the counselor's office to discuss his options.

While Chris is trying to figure out what classes to take, his family is having their own issues. Tasha, Chris's younger sister, is feeling neglected by her parents. She is having a challenging time fitting into the new school she is attending. Determined to help his sister, Chris decides to help her find friends and fit in. He does this by volunteering to work with her at a school fundraiser. As they work together, Tasha finds out that she is more capable than she thought. This helps her gain a newfound sense of confidence, and she starts to make friends.

Meanwhile, Rochelle, Chris's mother, is dealing with the fact that she has lost her job. With her husband Julius' encouragement, she starts to consider alternative job options, including going back to school to become a nurse. However, when she sees the guidance counselor talking to the gym teacher about her career, Rochelle realizes that she needs to be able to take care of herself and her family, no matter what job she has.

Overall, the first episode of season three shows how Chris and his family are coming of age and facing many challenges. They are learning to navigate college and career planning, make new friends, and find self-confidence in unexpected places.
